Tare is a Portland based experimental artist and designer from Pennsylvania. Through spontaneous making and spiritual practice they challenge adversity connected to queer identity, complex mental health, addiction, and cognitive disability. 

Their current project, TARE WARE, is a growing collection of one-of-a-kind soft goods made from recycled and locally purchased materials that extend the magic of creative harm reduction to the community. 

ALONE TO GATHER is Tare’s dream studio stocked with recycled materials and lending libraries to offer like-minds a place to co-work, collaborate, and share resources.

Tare received their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Practice from Portland State University with an emphasis in queer identity and sustainable textiles. Additionally, they pursued coursework at PRATT Institute, California College of the Arts, School of Visual Arts, and Rhode Island School of Design. Their work has been exhibited in the SF Bay Area and Portland OR.

For Fall 2026, TARE was selected for Portland State University's MFA program; Art and Social Practice.
